D is for: Don’t Know, Don’t Care

These 4 words have been known to define disregard, apathy and lack of interest…  I do respectfully beg to differ;  in some circumstances, it can be a blessing.

Albert Einsten was quoted as saying:
 I don’t know, I don’t care, and it doesn’t make any difference!”
Now I remember why I wish I’d met that guy in person; i would have given him a great big hug,  I'm so impressed he said that!
How wonderful that a guy known for his intellect gives us the facts as they are, making no pretense that there are times when it’s better to stay out of it, that nothing we can contribute will enhance it.    Then on those very lucid days, the world is a better place for our silence, our lack of contribution is actually appreciated  and for once, someone is thankful they did not have to deal with our grain of salt (or 2 or 3).

That being said:  Salut to all of you of the Peanut Gallery who are learning quickly when to meddle and when to not!
"Hey!  Albert, get a haircut!!! "   oops, who said that???

Signing off, remembering that silence can be golden!

Better be a Little “S” than a  Little Less

  3. Great way to spin the "Don't know, Don't Care" statement. You're right, it does come across as apathy, but it really is liberating. :)

  4. Love the idea that those don't represent apathy. Perhaps, they could represent focusing on the bigger things rather than the minutia that people sometimes dwell on.
