One year ago today

Glen passed away.  I miss him ~ always will.  Today, i can say:

Love,
If …
If only I had known
That you would go before you went,
That you would leave before you left, or
That you would die before you breathed your last,
I would have said goodbye in a different way.

Love,
If…
If I had anything to do with it
All our dreams would have come true,
All our words would have been said,
All our trees would have grown tall, and
All our moments together would have been gold.

Love,
If…
If on the other hand I could change things,
We would not be the people we were
We would not have lived the moments we did
Our tears would be for naught and
Our lives would be a lie

Love,
If…
If I had not met you
I would not be who I am today.
You will always have a part of me
A very essential piece of my puzzle
Thank you for you      Glen camping at Vaseux Lake in 2003 - my beautiful husband

Glen’s Little “S” says goodbye today.

  4. Just finding you through A-Z. I'm sorry for your loss as well. Writing about loss helps, though, don't you think? I pray you have a peaceful day.

  5. Our poetry gets right to the heart of things and I thank God for it. Glad you were able to express your feelings and then share them with us. I have an anniversary coming up on July 1.

    1. Dear Pat: thank you for your word. God is wonderful that way; while He allows these things to happen, He certainly does not condone it. He holds us close and dries our tears while we are mourning until we can handle it! What a comfort!. I pray your heart is healing as well as the anniversary looms. Cheers, Sylvie

  9. Beautifully said. Saying good-bye is almost always difficult and it's especially bad we don't get the opportunity to do so.
